Book Description:
A sexy category romance from Entangled publishing's Brazen imprint…

Professional matchmaker Serena Elliott spends her workdays helping clients find love. It’s the perfect gig. She gets to see the good part of the relationships...before things inevitably turn to crap. She leads her own love life the same way. Get in, and get out before things get too complicated. One date with sexy army doctor, Bryan Metcalf, won’t be enough to make her change her mind, no matter how hot it gets…

Bryan has had his share of crazy women and isn’t in the market for another relationship that ends by way of restraining order. When Serena Elliott gets into a bidding war for him at a charity bachelor auction, he’s a little worried. Turns out she’s just as anti-relationship as he is, and could be the solution to all his problems. If he can convince her to be his fake girlfriend, he just might be able to spend the rest of his leave in peace. Now if only he can stop thinking about that night on the beach…

But there are other forces at work that believe these two belong together, and they just might find out that happily ever afters do exist.

Fantastic Quote:

“You’re a matchmaker,” he reminded her.
“You’re a doctor. Do you go around… just, like, sticking Band-Aids on yourself?”
“That analogy doesn’t make any sense.”
“Yeah, well, your.. mom doesn’t make any sense.”

Ginny’s Review:
Any time there is a witty comeback consisting of either “your mom” or “your face”, I’m a fan. Because I’m mature like that. I’ve read Christine Bell before and I loved it, so when I saw this available for review, I had to snap it up.

Ms. Bell writes intelligently, with wit, sarcasm, sex and well-constructed characters. She uses big words — like “indefatigably” – and I freaking LOVE that. Especially when that is mixed in the same book as the description “crazier than a shithouse rat” (to describe one of Bryan’s exes).  Her characters are real and even the antagonists have more depth to them so they’re not just purely evil or crazy… but you get to see the motivation behind their actions. The sex scenes make your legs clench a little tighter, and, when they’re done (or in the middle of it) you want to go grab your man and play “show and tell” with what you just read.

Quote:
“D-don’t boss me. I’m not one of your patients, Doc.”
“That’s good, because if you were, what I’m about to do to you would be illegal.”

-deep breath- I want to meet a Bryan. It’s always a game for me to try to figure out what celebrity/model the author was picturing when writing her characters — especially the men.  I have recently learned just how many authors (and readers) picture Henry Cavill. Ms. Bell, if you’re reading this, I would love to know!

All-in-all, this book was entertaining, left me breathless and aching in some parts, and in others, made me want to slap the characters, which is all good.

I had only one objection:

“Like breathing or Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It was just an eternal part of life.”

I will NEVER accept that that “show” is a necessary/eternal part of life. Never! And you can’t make me!

Past that, the book comes out today. Grab it and have a good read!
