Book Description:
She’s the only one who can see through his golden boy façade to the broken god within…

Chrysander Notos, Supreme God of the South Wind and Summer, is on a mission: save Eurus from his death sentence and prove his troubled brother can be redeemed. But Eurus fights back, triggering vicious summer storms that threaten the mortal realm, dangerously drain Chrys, and earn the ire of the Olympic gods who ordered Eurus dead.

Laney Summerlyn refuses to give up her grandfather’s horse farm, despite her deteriorating vision. More than ever, she needs the organized routine of her life at Summerlyn Stables, until a ferocious storm brings an impossible—and beautiful—creature crashing down from the heavens.

Injured while fighting Eurus, Chrys finds himself at the mercy of a mortal woman whose compassion and acceptance he can’t resist. As they surrender to the passion flaring between them, immortal enemies close in, forcing Chrys to choose between his brother and the only woman who’s ever loved the real him.

Lynn’s Review:
Chrysander Notos has found his older brother, Eurus, walking on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.  If you’ve been following the series, you will know that the Anemoi have special abilities.  One thing Chrys can do is call the South Wind.  In order to understand this group of special men, you do need to follow this series in order.

As I read Chrys’ story, I have to wonder if there are other-worldly things going on that we don’t know about.  Now that spring is here and some of the nastier weather is showing itself, don’t you wonder what may be causing the storms?  Maybe this is why the meteorologists can’t always get the weather right – that certainly would be one explaination.

Laney Summerlyn is a woman with some physical limitations.  One thing I love to see is when an author isn’t afraid to make a character less than perfect.  We also share the same “phobia”, we can’t stand thunderstorms.  For me growing up, I would wake up to find my head at foot of the bed (and I’m under the covers) and my feet on my pillow.  How about you?  What I find a great inspiration is that even with her limitation she still takes the time to be a caretaker of horses.

This ended up being one of those books that you just can’t put down because you don’t want to miss anything – especially after Chrys and Laney speak to each other for the first time.  Laura also created a character named Seth Griffin.  Seth is Laney’s caretaker.  He’ll make someone a great mate – just saying.  Laura also left me hoping that Seth will get his own chance at love.

If you’re patient you will get your sex – wait for it; you won’t be disappointed.  Some things can’t be rushed and this is one of those times.  It comes at just the right spot and at just the right time.  But that’s not all that this story is about.  There is also a war going on and Laura shows us that there is a price that must be paid.

I went to Laura’s site, http://www.laurakayeauthor.com/anemoi/anemoi.html, but couldn’t find out much about book 4 except that the title is East of Ecstasy and that it will be coming out in 2014.  I couldn’t find any excerpts or teasers so I guess we’ll have to be patient until Laura is ready to share. (Reviewed by Lynn from Romance Reader Enthusiast)

Book Description:
Betrayal is all he’s ever known, but in her, he’ll find a love strong enough to be trusted…

When Marcella Raines’ twin brother dies, she honors his request to be buried at sea, never expecting the violent storm that swamps her boat. Recently divorced over her infertility and gravely injured, Ella still fights to survive.

Zephyros Martius is the Supreme God of the West Wind and Spring, but being the strongest Anemoi hasn’t saved him from betrayal and loss—worse, he’s sure his brother Eurus is behind it. When Zeph’s heartbreak whips up a storm that shipwrecks a human, his guilt leads him to save her, but he vows not to get involved.

Ella’s honesty, empathy, and unique calming influence attract Zeph like no other, and he finds himself wanting…everything. Ella knows Zeph’s different and fears rejection, but falls for his otherworldly masculinity and ancient, sad blue eyes. When Eurus threatens Ella, she and Zeph struggle to let go of the past, defend their future, and embrace what they most want—a love that can be trusted.

Lynn’s Review:
When I started to read the book, and right after the “book information”, Laura gives the reader two sentences that will have you thinking about your own mortality.

Marcella Raines is sailing on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. She’s out there on the water to do something very personal. All of a sudden a storm comes up. She’s all alone or so we assume.

Zephyros Martius is aware of what’s going on with the storm in the bay. He also has the ability to change forms. This is how he meets Ella. He’s trying to right a wrong and then his brother Eurus shows up. Eurus then drops a bomb. Zeph, to say the least, is not a happy camper.

Zeph has decided that he’s going to be Ella’s guardian angel – and I don’t even think he realizes what he’s done. He’s also not used to a woman like Ella. What I love about this book is that Laura is teaching me a lot about things I never knew before. She even teaches me some things about Greek Mythology that I didn’t know. This is one thing that I love about our authors, they make learning things fun.

Laura gives Ella and Zeph an instant connection. Sometimes I get the feeling that some authors rush the “love connection” a little but not in this instance. And Ella doesn’t mind their differences. Romance has come to Ella – and his name is Zephyros.

Laura also doesn’t rush her sex scenes. We get the full force of our couple’s connection. There’s also a conversation about bisexuality but we don’t have any of those types of scenes included so you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable. As long as you like your sex hot, you’ll be very happy with this book.

Ella makes Zeph a meal and it will make you very hungry. It may also leave you wanting to try it. Let’s just say that if you are a candy fiend, this will make you happy. It’s also a combination that I never would have thought of but at some point I’m going to have to cook me up some.

Laura had me so tightly gripped into the story and then she did a complete one-eighty. It didn’t turn me off but left me wanting to read more. Does Ella turn out alright? Do she and Zeph make it? You will have to get a copy of this book to answer those questions for yourself.

I actually liked this book more than her first book (but not by much). If you haven’t read “North By Need”, you will want to catch up on this great series. “South of Surrender” is the next title that will be coming out in December. I’m looking forward to see what Chrysander Notos has in store for us. But in the meantime, pick up a copy of “West of Want” and Ella and Zeph will have you wanting to go sailing on the Chesapeake.
