Book Description:
He knows exactly how to make her burn…

Fire captain and bar owner Becker Thomas usually spends his nights alone, trying to escape painful memories from his past. When he meets a sexy, free-spirited brunette outside his bar, he knows he’s found the perfect way to forget for one night. But when he later discovers the woman he’s itching for another night with is his best friend’s sister, everything comes to a halt.

Just out of a toxic relationship, Megan Jansen is only in Hidden Oaks to visit her brother, photograph the firemen’s calendar, and then slip off to another adventure. The brooding man who gave her the best sex ever is an unexpected surprise. The problem is, he’s her brother’s friend and a fellow fireman, and Megan’s rule is no firemen. She knows she’s going to get burned …but keeping their hands off each other is easier said than done.

Any book the requires me to use my dictionary to look up a new word is already a winner.  Add to that photography and the use of a Nikon camera, hot firemen, and characters that are flawed, and well written? You’ve hit the jackpot.

Lauren Blakely has created a believable world where you wish to know the characters yourself, fight along side them and go get drinks after. And though I’m not a beer drinker, some of the brews that Becker has created do intrigue me.

Becker… mmmm… I live in a town where I have literally almost ended up in a car accident as I watched the firefighters, shirtless, washing down their trucks. I can completely visualize Becker and I REALLY want to see the shot that Megan took, which then led to an incredibly steamy scene between the two of them.

The story of Becker and Megan is definitely worth reading, and I will be picking up the other existing book in this series with my next paycheck, looking forward to any and all new ones that will be coming out.

Ms. Blakely, thank you for a wonderful story, sexy, steamy, tense, and including the music of the Black Keys.

Epic win.
