Book Description:
New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde invites you back to Cupid, Texas, where love is only a heartbeat away . . .

Sexy cowboy-scholar Jericho Chance always knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. And after sauntering back home to Cupid, he’s shocked to discover that he wants Zoe McCleary. After years from home, he takes one new look at his bubbly best friend, with her lightning smarts and luscious body, and it hits him like a bolt: she’s his somebody to love and he’s not leaving town again without her.

Settling down always seemed like a time waster to Zoe, a man magnet with a trail of broken hearts behind her. She’s not meant to settle down—but how can she resist someone as persuasive as Jericho? There’s no way they can ignore the explosive chemistry seething between them . . . even if it means risking their friendship...

Lynn’s Review:
One thing different with this latest Cupid book is that each chapter starts off with a definition.  This makes you wonder about the amount of time that was required in order to find just the right ones.  This isn’t a historical romance but our author gives her readers more of the history of one of the founding families.

Zoe McCleary has a situation going on when Jericho Hezekiah Chance shows up.  Even though these two are supposed to be the very best of friends, Lori does a great job of showing the tension that exists between the two.  She also takes a serious moment and has you laughing – it takes a quick mind to do something like that.

I never thought that archaeology was a very interesting subject but Lori has changed my mind.  You’re finding pieces of history and you never know if it can be linked back to you.  And it’s not a job that you would think would make for a nail biter – surprise!  Lori never shortchanges her readers in any way when it comes to romance.  And there’s no sex before it’s time.  It’s all about building the anticipation so that when it finally happens, it’s perfect.

If you’ve been following this series, this book is a great addition.  It’s like you’ve become a resident and are learning more about your family.  Cupid sounds like a great place to visit and maybe even put down some roots.  Here’s a town that has it’s own myth to it that seems to draw its residents closer.  The great thing about how Lori has written this series is that each book can be read as a stand-alone so you could read the books in any order.  But if you want to stay true to the series I would read them in the order in which they were written. Book Description:
The second book in a dazzling new Cupid, Texas series by Lori Wilde. Welcome to Cupid, where every wish for love comes true…

For years, a small group of women in Cupid, TX, led by Millie Greenway, have taken it upon themselves to keep the Cupid legend alive. Now Millie has roped her four disbelieving granddaughters into joining the cause.

Lace Bettingfield knows for a fact that the Cupid legend is bogus. As a shy sixteen-year-old, she left a letter at the statue and got nothing in return but heaps of embarassment when her letter ended up printed in the school newspaper. But now the boy she longed for is back in town and Lace can't help wondering...what if?

Lynn’s Review:
This book starts off with a letter to Cupid.

Lace Bettingfield had a horrible freshman year in high school – be honest, some of you were just the same.  But now she has a PhD in plant science.  Pierce Hollister is a star athlete who has returned home.   Right off you can see that he likes to push somebody’s buttons.

Lori is a great author that knows how to control her characters – they don’t reveal anything too quickly.  In this book, she plays on how men describe certain parts to a woman’s anatomy.    It also goes to the type of character Pierce is.  You will also see that she starts every chapter off with something about plants.

This is a book that must have taken a lot of research.  She had to be able to give the correct genus of the plants and know what the plant actually is.  Lori is also very good at teasing her readers.  She gives her readers just enough so that they will have to keep turning the page to see if they do, if they don’t, or even when our couple takes their relationship to the next step.  She also makes sure to get her readers to laugh and to hope that everything turns out all right.

Cupid Texas is a great series you are going to want to follow.  It’s a town you would want to visit and maybe even put down roots.  Somebody to Love is book three that will be coming out in early 2014.  In the meantime, read this book – it will heat up your summer. (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast)
