Book Description:

Colton Nelson was 28 when he won the Texas Lottery and went from ranch hand to ranch owner overnight. When women started lining up wanting some of his millions, even going so far as to drug his beer, his family asks the lovely new ranch assistant to help out by pretending to be his girlfriend. They make her an offer she can't refuse, so even though she doesn't like it one bit, Laura agrees to help. Laura Baker and her sister, Janet, had been raised in foster homes. Though she was the younger of the two, Laura was always bailing Janet out of trouble. Janet thinks Laura should take advantage of the billionaire cowboy but Laura is getting to know Colton intimately and she doesn't give a damn about his money. True love isn't for sale.

Lynn’s Review:
This is a new series for Carolyn Brown.

Laura Baker wants out of Ambrose, Texas.  She’s at the Circle 6 working for her cousin Andy.  Colton owns the ranch and is also a friend of Andy’s.  There are some people that are acting a little strange.  For me, this helps me to turn the page – I’m trying to figure out why they are acting so strangely and how it affects Laura and Colton.

Carolyn shows her readers that not everyone is impressed with those that have tons of money.  Some people are happy with what they have – I’m happy if I win just a couple of bucks on a lottery ticket.  But whether you are rich, poor, or somewhere in-between that doesn’t stop you from falling in love.  It also doesn’t buy you principles.

One character that I fell in love with was Roxie – she comes across as a typical teenager.  I just loved every scene she was in – I just had to laugh.  I will look forward to seeing if Roxie will appear in another of Carolyn’s books.  I also loved to see the rapport between Roxie and Laura – it makes me wish I had a sister in my life.

It’s a book that I couldn’t put down.  The story just went by too quickly.  If you’re a fan of Carolyn’s, you will want to add this book to your library.  If you’re getting together a list of books you want to read this summer, make sure you put this book on your list.  One thing I also love about Carolyn’s books is that she always has me laughing at some point during the story.  And the good news is that book two, The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby, will be out in October. (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast)
