Book Description:

Evan Jackson can’t believe his luck. It’s been a year since Maggie broke his heart, and now his business partner has hired her as their new receptionist. Fine, they need the help. But no way will he let her get close again. His heart hasn’t healed yet and he’s still angry.

Maggie may have gotten her foot in the door, but it’s going to take more than her special talents and a wink to get the hard-hearted bad-boy to see that love is really more than just cosmic nonsense.

About A D Marrow

A.D Marrow is a life-long lover of the written word. From Shakespeare to Hollywood Wives, if it’s in print, she’ll read it, but the love of her literary life is Romance, particularly Romances about not-quite so ordinary heroes and heroines. With a desire to write the snarky, steamy and spell-binding, A.D sat down to pen a novel and the rest is history. She’s a registered Sapiophile, a proud Geek since before Geek was chic and believes that everyone deserves a happily ever after.

A.D. lives in the foothills of North Carolina with her ridiculously hot and amazingly supportive husband, three kids that rock so hard there should be a national holiday for their awesomeness, two really stupid dogs and a plethora of Post-it notes with book ideas to last her until she’s 90. Her childhood dream is realized in the fact that YOU have cause to read her bio. She hopes that one day, it lends her enough credibility to live out her second dream, which is to write an episode of Doctor Who.

Her personal mantra echoes that of Morticia Adams; “Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.”

Book Description:

Tessa Stoneman hasn’t been able to get long-time friend and business partner Nicholas Boone out of her head since they shared a single kiss in college. Even when she dated Nicholas’s best friend. Now that she’s giving up her position at GameNerdz to strike out on her own—and now that she’s single—maybe it’s the right time to see if there’s still something between them.

Nicholas knows once Tessa leaves the company she helped found, they might drift apart. Before she starts her own company in the new year, he wants to woo the woman he fell in love with during college. So he poses as her Secret Santa, gifts her with items from the song “Santa Baby,” and plans a big reveal at the company holiday party. But when his best friend wants to rekindle his romance with Tessa, will Nicholas lose his last chance?

Tessa Stoneman has a thing for fellow co-worker, and good friend, Nicholas Boone. But she’s not going to be at GameNerdz for much longer. I always think of game designing being a man’s job. It’s nice to see that Robin has written a character that fits into that world where possibly not many women exist.

What I love about this story is that Robin makes it so relatable. She was also creative by basing the story around a Christmas song. I personally like the original as sung by Eartha Kitt – – you may have your own favorite version. As you read Robin’s story, find your comfortable chair, favorite blanket, drink of choice, and put on your version.

Even though this is a novella, nothing is rushed – not the sex and not the story line. If you only like reading holiday stories around the holiday, get the book now and just put it away until next Christmas. But what’s good about Tessa and Nick’s story is it could be read at any time. When you are trying to get through the cold nights of the wintertime, we tend to look for books that are going to heat our blood. This is a good way to start.
