Book Description:
When Anita Blake meets with prospective client Tony Bennington, who is desperate to have her reanimate his recently deceased wife, she is full of sympathy for his loss. Anita knows something about love, and she knows everything there is to know about loss. But what she also knows, though Tony Bennington seems unwilling to be convinced, is that the thing she can do as a necromancer isn't the miracle he thinks he needs. The creature that Anita could coerce to step out of the late Mrs. Bennington's grave would not be the lovely Mrs. Bennington. Not really. And not for long.

Sherri’s Review:
Why do I keep hoping that Ms. Hamilton will turn this series around?  I loved the first Anita Blake books, but after reading the last couple of ones I feel that Ms. Hamilton should pay me for the time that I wasted with this “book.”   At only 158 page it should actually be labeled a novella or at least incorporated into an anthology. There is an afterword in the book that discusses how the idea for this book was conceived and the scene is actually recreated in the book.

There is one redeeming feature of the book and that is Anita is back to her necromancy roots. Of course things go horrible wrong for Anita, but isn’t that just par for the course?  There is a brief appearance from Jason and just a mention of Jean Claude, but what can you really do in 158 pages? This book reminds me of Micah, which I also hated; if you want a comparison. IF you feel the need to keep up with the series I would recommend borrowing it from your library.
