One-off, moving on sex, wasn’t meant to be this hot…

When determined singleton Shea Summers is persuaded to become the “wife” of the Lord of Edgerton Manor, the last thing she wants to do is play house with a stranger.

Brooding playboy Brando Marshall is far from happy when Shea turns up at his sprawling estate with production crew in tow. Surely she’s just another woman after his wallet? And if she’s looking for Mr Right, she’s definitely hitting on the wrong guy. Then again, after catching an unscheduled glimpse of her knickers, perhaps Brando needs to teach this “gold-digger” a lesson!

She’s seizing the moment, he’s breaking the rules, and when bad boys can be so much fun, who can resist getting on the right side of Mr. Wrong…

Quiana’s Review:
Bad boy Brando Marshall (of Edgerton Manor) thinks Shea Summers is just one woman in a long line of women who have recently applied to appear on a reality television show via postcard for the position of his wife: a gold-digger looking to marry him for his money.  Good girl Shea Summers thinks she’s been hired to tidy and organize Edgerton Manor.  When the two meet the attraction is instantaneous.  Brando does not want a wife and would like to get rid of Shea as quickly as possible, but not before he gets her into bed.  And while Shea finds Brando attractive, he’s a little overwhelming for her.  She has no intentions of getting involved with Brando, but she is interested in engaging him in a battle of wills.  Both see the other as a challenge, but who will come out on top?

I was ready to like and enjoy The Right Side of Mr. Wrong by Jane Linfoot.  I was in the mood for a light-hearted read, with likeable main characters, and a sweet or even spicy romance.  What I got: I guess one could label it a light-hearted story and the romance was definitely spicy, but in my opinion, it was missing the likeable characters and the sweet romance.  The plot was flimsy at best.  And while the book wasn’t too long, it felt long because there didn’t seem to be much happening plot-wise.  Shea and Brando spent most of their time trying to outsnark and outsmart one another, while fighting their growing lust for each other.  I honestly don’t understand why Shea fell for Brando as he was such a jerk to her for quite some time.  Shea was a more relatable character, but I’d honestly already tuned out by the time more was revealed about her past and Brando’s past.  So in the end, I had no investment in them as characters or in their romance.

Needless to say, this particular book left me disappointed. (Reviewed by Quiana – The Book Lover)
