Tall, dark, and lethal...
Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.
With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.
Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...
Becca Merritt has come to see a Mr. Nick Rixey – I can just see her expression in this scene. This story plays on one of my guilty pleasures – I love watching all the tattoo shows that are on TV. It was a great first chapter that sets the reader up for the rest of the book. It’s a great ride.
This is a story made for fantasies – hunky veteran rescues damsel and watch the sparks fly. If you love stories about soldiers with a past that connects him to the female character, you’ll love this one. If you like a hero that has tattoos, this one’s for you. If you’ve read books by Laura before, this will be one that you will want to make sure to add to your list. If you’ve never read her work before, what better way to change that. Maybe you like a book that has mystery, suspense, some hot sex, and romance that are all mixed in perfectly then you can’t go wrong by reading about Nick and Becca. The only disappointment I had was that I couldn’t see Becca’s tattoo – you’ll understand when you get to that scene.
There’s another scene where they are at Nick’s house that will leave you wishing that you were in Becca’s shoes – or nightwear depending on how your mind works. Another visual I would have liked to have seen in Technicolor. When you add everything up, this is the start to what looks to be a great series. I look forward to reading them all. I already have my calendar marked for when Hard As You Can comes out in February. (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast)
