Book Description:
Luck be a vampire tonight . . .When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen—and everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at all.

. . . and every night. . .Who wouldn't want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire? Jake, for one. He's barely had time to adjust to his new state before he's roped into a family favor. Still, secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning out to be the wildest ride of his life. First he'll put a stop to whoever's targeting her. Then he'll prove that this kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.

Lynn’s Review:
Jacob “Jake” Colson is on assignment in Ottawa – a place I’ve never been (guess I’ve been missing out on a lot by staying in my corner of the world).  He’s been asked to be the bodyguard of Nicole Phillips.  Nicole has one sorry S.O.B. of a soon to be ex.

Lynsay does a great job in creating the husband.  If she wants her readers to have someone to hate, she has accomplished her goal – if I had a picture, darts would come in real handy.  You will also love the scene where Jake and Nicole meet for the first time – I feel a dream coming on.  Lynsay makes Jake’s character out to be a vampire but she also leaves him with his manhood – this includes learning how to cook.  It brings to mind a lot of great memories of when my dad used to cook on Sundays.

Two words – hot tub.  If you don’t happen to own one you may just change your mind after reading this current Argeneau book– especially if the tub comes with your own Jake.  I’m not nurse material and Lynsay reminds me why – you will understand when you read that particular scene (but it’s also a warning if you are like me).  It set off the gag reflex but it didn’t stop me from reading – I’m totally hooked on Jake.  I also had to know what was going to happen.

If you like to drink while you’re reading – the drinks of choice for the characters seems to be coffee and wine – I had my Dunkin coffee handy while I was reading.  What’s your drink of choice going to be?  If you also like to snack, I’ll leave that up to you.

Lynsay knows just the right time for our couple to experience mind-blowing sex.  You might have wanted it earlier but our author didn’t want to take away from the storyline.  She leaves enough that the reader can use their imagination to fill in the blanks.  But one of her reoccurring characters, Marguerite, has me thinking of one reality star in particular – Patti Stanger.  It makes me wonder if our author had the same thought.

If you like some action and suspense with your paranormal fix, you can’t go wrong with this book.  If you’re a fan of Lynsay’s already, this is a must for your shelf.  If this will be your first book, make sure to go back and read the other books in this series, you can’t go wrong.  And of course the author ends this current book with the very popular HEA ending. (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast)
