Book Description:
Caspian Mort can feel the history in anything he touches, a gift he inherited from his father, the Crown Prince of Annwyn. Devastated over his ex-wife's infidelity, Caspian has withdrawn from human contact except when working as an antiques dealer.

While assessing the contents of the historic Callaway House he encounters the beautiful Lydia Callaway and senses that her home is haunted by a banished fairy. But what does the dangerous exile want? Unbeknownst to Lydia, she's the owner of the last remaining portal to Annwyn—a mirror hidden somewhere in the house. To keep Lydia safe, Caspian will have to divulge the secrets of his heritage, and risk losing his heart again.

Lynn’s Review:
Caspian Mort is at a garage sale.  He’s purchased a mirror.  Lydia Callaway is in the process of deciding if she needs to sell her grandmother’s home.  It’s a home with quite a history to it.  But there’s also a mystery that surrounds it.  It will be interesting to see if Caspian can solve it.

Shona writes of brownies, and not the chocolate variety, at Caspian’s house.  I wonder if they could come to my house – I could use their help.  I had a book that was a childhood favorite about brownies but cannot remember the title.  I’ll have to do some research.  We also learn more about the fairy world – those to like and those to stay away from.  There also appears to be another mystery and Caspian seems to be at the center of it.

Shona makes Lydia both shy and strong.  She just met Caspian but she knows that if she wants something to happen, she can’t wait for him to make the first move.  Several years ago, it would have been that the female character would do nothing until the male made the first move.

Shona is one of those great authors that gives you just the right amount of sex, falling in love even though some things seem unbelievable, and a mystery waiting to be solved.  What’s great is that the mystery doesn’t overtake the story either – this way we get to see the relationship between Caspian and Lydia blossom.  Nothing is rushed and then you realize the story is over.  It will leave you wondering what book two will have in store for you.

If you have read Shona’s Goblin series, you will love this new one.  If you haven’t gone to her web site,, stop over and check out her bookshelf that will show you what the other books in this series are.  Book two is titled The Lord of the Hunt and is due out January 2014.  (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast).

I keep hearing great things about this writer. This series sounds more interesting to me than her Goblin series.
