Book Description:
It’s a good thing Gabe Bristow lives and breathes the Navy SEAL credo, “the only easy day was yesterday,” because today, his life is unrecognizable. When his prestigious career comes to a crashing halt, he’s left with a bum leg and few prospects for employment that don’t include a desk.

That is, until he’s offered the chance to command a private hostage rescue team and free a wealthy American businessman from Colombian paramilitary rebels. It seems like a good deal—until he meets his new team: a drunk Cajun linguist, a boy-genius CIA threat analyst, an FBI negotiator with mob ties, a cowboy medic, and an EOD expert as volatile as the bombs he defuses. Oh, and who could forget the sexy, frustratingly impulsive Audrey Van Amee? She’s determined to help rescue her brother—or drive Gabe crazy. Whichever comes first.

As the death toll rises, Gabe’s team of delinquents must figure out how to work together long enough to save the day. Or, at least, not get themselves killed. Because Gabe’s finally found something worth living for, and God help him if he can’t bring her brother back alive.

Lynn’s Review:
Bryson Van Amee is in Columbia when he gets a call from his sister.  Audrey Van Amee has an art show coming up and she’s reminding him about his obligation.  Then the action begins – and a great reason to keep turning the page.

Gabe Bristow is a military man on his way to a party in his honor.  His younger brother, Rafael, is very unique – you’ll see how unique when you “meet” him.  I love that Tonya included him in her story because he’s not the usual brother I see in the books that I have read – especially a romance novel.

You will want to make sure that you read this book, in Tonya’s new series, first because it shows how the HORNET team came to be.  If you like lots of action with your romantic suspense stories this will give you that.  I would love to see Dwayne Johnson as Gabe – and who wouldn’t (for me, Arnold Schwarzenegger just doesn’t cut it anymore.)  But if you stop by her blog,, you can see who she used for her inspiration.  For Abby’s character it would have to be someone sassy, physically fit, and who also speaks spanish but petite in stature.

The HORNET team reminds me of the old “A-Team” series but on steroids.  I found it interesting to see that with all the action going on around her, Abby still sees things with an artist’s eye.  Would loved to have seen some colored illustrations included – I bet they would have been spectacular.

Tonya gives our couple their first kiss at the most perfect moment – that’s all I’m saying because I want you to enjoy it for yourself.  Their first time together is totally hot – just like the country they’re in.  You’ll want to make sure you have your fan handy.  The only thing I couldn’t find out is anything about book two.  We’ll just have to be patient.  I hope you like Tonya’s book as much as I did. (Reviewed by Lynn Reynolds from Romance Reader Enthusiast)
