Meara Greymere is in charge of the cabin rentals on the rugged Oregon coastline, so her brother and his mate could take a delayed honeymoon. But while Hunter is away, the she-wolf intends to play—she just has to convince the right alpha male to rent one of the cabins, and she’ll take it from there. But when Finn Emerson arrives with every intention of pretending to be her lover, she's not going to take this lying down. She knows he'll tell her brother what she's up to and put an end to her game.
Finn Emerson is a Navy SEAL, formerly one of Hunter Greymere’s team members, and now he's trying to track down a gray wolf, who's already made an attempt on one of their team member's lives. Finn believes Hunter will be targeted next, only to discover Hunter is off with his mate on a honeymoon, and he fears Hunter’s sister is in grave danger. But the SEAL soon learns protecting the unpredictable sexy she-wolf is a mission and a half and protecting her isn’t all he wants to do.
Meara Greymere is looking for a mate. Finn Emerson is a man that was on the same SEAL team as Meara’s brother, Hunter. Finn finds an interesting advertisement and starts acting the part of the protective older brother. And on top of everything else there’s an assassin out there that is after Hunter’s team.
Meara’s renting cabins while Hunter is on his honeymoon. The first renter’s name is Joe Matheson. He sneaks in which startles her. He then states that he actually knows Hunter. This is when the suspense begins. All the action of finding the assassin and staying out of his way makes this a real page turner. The action continues almost all the way until the end.
Bjornolf Jorgenson is out to protect Hunter and his family any way he can. He also appears to have a thing for Meara. When he and Finn meet, they have quite the discussion. He also takes great pleasure in annoying the hell out of Finn.
With questionable things going on, Finn and Meara go into hiding. While in hiding she thinks she sees someone she knows. His name is Cyn. Meara seems to draw men like “bees to honey”. Remember, Meara’s looking for a mate. Is that mate Finn? Maybe it’s Cyn or Bjornwolf? Or maybe it’s Chris – one of Hunter’s sub-leaders? We’ll just have to keep reading to have these questions answered.
Meara loves to read romance novels. She’s caught with the book “Heart of the Highland Wolf”. And if you didn’t realize it, the book is written by Terry Spear. It’s book 7 of this series. If like me you’ve come into the series a little late, you may want to go back and read the book.
There’s a scene where Meara and Finn share a decadent treat by the campfire. Then we have another scene where they’re enjoying a picnic. These may give you some ideas of things to do with your significant other. It certainly makes me want to find a deserted beach somewhere.
If you are looking for a book with a lot of sex you will not want to read this book. If you want a book with just the right amount of sex and plenty of action, this book is for you. What’s good about Terry’s series is that you don’t have to read the books in order to understand what’s going on. Although at some point you may want to go back and read the other books just so you can catch up.
Book 10 will not be coming out until next year. But later this year, she is expected to have two other books come out. So if you don’t want to wait until the next book in her “Werewolf Series” comes out, you may want to check out her next book that is expected to be out in October.
